the challenge

EDP Renewables (EDPR) inaugurated the first wind farm in Greece in 2021. The organisation enlisted Action Greece‘s support to raise awareness of the project and secure media coverage.

our approach

Sustainability plays an important role in who we are and what we stand for. Action Greece has supported EDP Renewables, the world’s fourth largest renewable energy producer in the inauguration of the first wind farm in the country. The 45MW Livadi Wind Farm, located near the town of Malesina, in Central Greece, was hailed as the first step in EDPR’s plan to reach 500MW of installed capacity in the Greek market by 2025. Action started working with EDP Renewables in Greece in summer 2021, handling the company’s corporate communications in the country. Since then, Action has become a trusted partner of EDPR and was selected to organise this milestone event.

Our Greek team was responsible for the planning and setup of a remote event venue, located at the base of one of the wind turbines, as well as for the invitation of key national and local media representatives.

More than 90 pieces of coverage were generated following the inauguration event, with a total PR value of EUR70K. Action secured 1 exclusive interview of EDPR’s General Manager Greece at a Top Tier business media that was greatly reproduced by Tier 1 energy and business media, as well as a feature at a Tier 1 financial media, focused on statements made by EDPR’s General Manager
