Action Hellas successfully organised the European Commission’s campaign for the Holidays in Greece, held at Syntagma metro station in Athens, giving away pomegranates and wishing passers-by good luck and prosperity for the New Year. The main purpose of the action was for the EC in Greece to raise awareness for the EU funded projects in the framework of the INVESTEU campaign, that is implemented locally by Action Hellas. The creative idea for the give away revolved around the pomegranate – a traditional symbol of good fortune & prosperity in the Greek culture. The fruit was offered as a festive gift from the EU to passers-by at the busiest metro station in heart of Athens.

In collaboration with the company Alfeios Rodi, which has been supported by the EU’s funding tool LEADER in order to upgrade its pomegranate juice production machinery, a flagship project of the INVESTEU campaign, almost 2000 pomegranates were distributed during the event, giving good wishes to the public and informing them about the EU funding tools and other projects that are part of the INVESTEU campaign.

Action Hellas was responsible for the development of the entire campaign concept, communications strategy and promotional materials for the event, as well as handling the media relations and social media strategy on behalf of the European Commission Representation in Greece.
