Second Annual EU Film Festival Launched in Georgia with Great Success

Action Georgia successfully handled all the communication needs for the ‘EU Film Festival in Georgia 2015’, which was simultaneously launched in five different cities around the country (Tbilisi, Gori, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Poti) to packed auditoriums of film lovers and official delegates from European Union member states.
The film festival was held under the auspices of the ‘Let’s Meet Europe’ project which Action Georgia has implemented for the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia since 2012.

Action Georgia managed all public relations for the festival, the organisation of the film screenings, cinema locations, and the social media promotion and branding. Preparations began months before the event, with a strategic communications campaign targeted at the general public via television, radio, print and web-based media. This year, thousands of people from across Georgia enjoyed free entrance to all events organised within the framework of the festival.

The annual occasion aimed to showcase the importance of European cultural diversity through art, while highlighting the EU motto ‘United in Diversity.’ Both cinephiles and casual movie-goers in Georgia had the opportunity to enjoy films from across Europe that have enjoyed great success in their country of origin, while this year’s festival programme also included masterclasses and discussions.
