To mark Euromelanoma Day, Action PR Latvia recently organised a major public screening in Riga’s city centre to raise awareness about skin cancer issues, including diagnosis, and the importance of sunscreen and other preventative measures. Our Latvia team put the event together in cooperation with the Dermatologists’ association and doctors from 4 different clinics in the country’s capital city. The day long screening consisted of free mole checks, doctors’ consultations and sunscreen tests with over 2000 people taking part. The Latvian media were present, including country’s public broadcasting TV and radio channels, number one women’s weekly magazine, and leading online news channels. The event gained wide coverage in both the press and across social media platforms from both participants and passers by.
