junior web developer (WordPress)

We are seeking a Web Developer to work at our HQ in Nicosia, Cyprus (on-site). The ideal candidate has a passion for the web and constantly follows digital trends. In this role, you will create, edit, and maintain WordPress custom websites and you will work with the senior developers to implement client projects, as required.

responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites for clients and internal projects.
• Implement and customize themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
• Ensure websites are responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, including broken links, layout problems, and functionality errors.
• Test website functionality across multiple browsers and devices to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the senior developer to understand and implement website requirements and to ensure timely delivery of projects. Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new projects.
• Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies.
• Continuously improve coding and development skills through training and self-learning.

education & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a relaed field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in WordPress development or general web development
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic PHP (essential).
• Familiarity with JavaScript and jQuery.
• Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
• Basic SEO Knowledge: Familiarity with SEO best practices to ensure the website is search-engine friendly is a plus.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding of UX/UI best practices.
