Mini helps to host a Flash Mob for Hammoudi

Realising the potential for positive change that happens when groups collaborate and take collective action, Action Lebanon, teamed up with BMW Group and local NGO Tamanna, to organise a flash mob initiative in support of Hammoudi Zebawi, a nine-year-old boy suffering from autoimmune disorder.


Tamanna – which means make a wish in Arabic – is a charity set up to help turn critically ill children’s tears into laughter by granting them wishes. Learning of Hammoudi’s condition, Action Lebanon proposed the extravagant flash mob idea, enlisting the help of Mini Cooper by BMW to help them realise their vision.


The flash mob – which took place in the Beirut Souks – included six Mini Cooper cars, two of which were painted to resemble Hammoudi’s favourite superheroes, while the rest were branded with happy faces in line with the ‘Happy’ song by Pharell William’s which was used as the soundtrack for the dance. Dancers from the popular Stun dance troupe were joined by Live Love Beirut, Solidere, Red Bull and crowds of children all dancing together to bring happiness and hope to little Hammoudi.


The event drew an impressive crowd of spectators and received significant media coverage across a broad spectrum of media outlets helping to raise awareness for Tamanna, while also solidifying Mini Cooper’s position as an active member of the Lebanese society, an avid supporter of local charities and a fun car that makes people smile.
