Action Ukraine has won a new tender from the EU Delegation to Ukraine. This year, on the occasion of the 14th European Football Championship, the Delegation will hold an unprecedented large scale open air event in the so-called European Village in Ukraine. Action Ukraine, in a consortium with Key Communications, was chosen to be its co-organizer. The European Village is a joint initiative of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and the City of Kyiv.
During the 30 days, the Action Ukraine team will organize hundreds of activities in cooperation with the Embassies of EU Member States, EU-funded projects, international and non-governmental organisations, public authorities and other stakeholders. The event aims to achieve an increasing awareness of the EU and its assistance to Ukraine among Kyiv citizens and the Ukrainian media.
Along with the official UEFA EURO 2012 tournament events, the European Village should become a visible, entertaining and informative interactive communication platform. It will not refer to sport itself but serve as a stage to demonstrate and showcase EU-Ukraine Cooperation in 11 of the most important and attractive sectors – based on the number of players in a football team. The European Village will strengthen and develop networking in selected themes through round tables, social media, conferences and events. It will also promote the best practices of sustainable development through good will ambassadors, concerts, presentations, interactive exhibitions and media.
