Action Lebanon and British Airways Make Dreams Come True
British Airways collaborated with Action Lebanon to put a smile on the face of thirteen-year-old Reine from Beirut, who is now one step closer to achieving her dreams of becoming a professional ballerina. With the help of Action, the airline recently partnered with The Nawaya Network, a local Beirut- based NGO, that develops the talents of disadvantaged and marginalized youth as Reine recently jetted off for New York to attend a two-week intensive course at Danceworks Studios.
The young ballerina and her mother’s roundtrip flights to New York were provided for by British Airways as part of the airline’s ‘Making the World a Smaller Place’ initiative, which aims to help children and adults who require extra support to make their dreams come true. Paolo De Renzis, British Airways’ Commercial Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia said: “The Nawaya Network is making such a difference to young people’s lives and we are absolutely delighted to be helping Reine make her dreams come true.”
Action Lebanon ensured the filming of Reine’s experience from Lebanon to New York and back, with airport passes secured for a cameraman to follow Reine through the airport. Marking the first time the young girl and her mother have ever travelled abroad, the screening of the documentary is set for September 10th at the American University of Beirut, where a speech will be given by a BA representative among other prominent personalities.
