Action Georgia works side-by-side UNICEF to fight the stigma surrounding disabilities

In light of the novel coronavirus, it has become clear that individuals with disabilities around the world remain socially isolated, deprived of the right for expression and visibility. This isolated lifestyle has constructed numerous myths and misleading information about people with disabilities, subjecting them to unnecessary stigma. As society at large now remains socially isolated due to Covid-19, Action Global Communications in Georgia successfully reached out to over than 100K FB users in one day within the framework of a special UNICEF anti-stigma campaign, publishing online posters about the myths and realities of down syndrome. The posters were circulated online on 21st of March, the International Day of Down Syndrome, and created as strong call to action in order to deconstruct the false and dangerous perceptions about children with down syndrome.
