Action Greece successfully organises Regional Discussion Forum for Athens EPLO (European Parliament Liaison Office)

The Action Global Communications Greece team recently organised the Regional Discussion Forum (RDF) for the country’s European Parliament Liaison Office, hosted in the scenic Hermoupolis; the well-known capital of the Cyclades, on the island of Syros.

The occasion aptly entitled ‘Discussion for the future of Europe: Challenges and Perspectives’, was held at the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce and witnessed the participation of MEP Maria Spiraki (EPP group), the Representative of European Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta, Dimitrios Pagidas, the Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Athens, Giorgos Moschovis, and other EU specialists.

The opening ceremony was led by the Head of the EPLO office in Greece, Leonidas Antonakopoulos, followed by welcome speeches of the Mayor of Syros, Giorgos Maragos and District Councillor, Markos Dadaos.

Action Greece undertook the development of the event’s communication plan, including full media planning and mapping.  The Greek team also provided an array of additional high-quality services, from logistical and secretariat assistance, to a registration desk during the event.

Action was also responsible for coordinating the travel and accommodation arrangements for 22 participants, while also designing promotional material, running Facebook Ad campaigns, organising livestreaming via EPLO You Tube and Facebook accounts, and securing photo/video coverage, boosting event visibility.

A grand total of 200 participants – including association representatives, NGO’s, public stakeholders and local community members – partook in the discussion forum. Forty journalists from local and regional media (Naxos, Paros, Tinos, Andros, Sifnos, Mykonos and Kea) were present at the event, with a special seminar targeted at media representatives. The occasion culminated in a grand work dinner organised by Action Greece at a central restaurant in Syros.
